Fiorentina coach Sinisa Mihajlovic has expressed his
disappointment after losing 2-0 to Valencia in a
friendly match played at the Mestalla stadium.
Mihajlovic said he wanted to see an attacking Viola
outfit prior to kick-off, but he did not see enough
of it implemented during the match.
"During the first part of the match, I liked the way
that the side played," the Serbian told Violanews
post-match. "But then we changed our style of play
and made two errors.
"We had two occasions to score, and overall played
well for 75 minutes.
"We did not attack as much as I wanted, and this
does not sit well with me. I want my team to be an
attacking side.
"We were also lacking players in their traditional
role, such as [Gaetano] D'Agostino and [Riccardo]
Montolivo," concluded the coach.

Fiorentina coach Sinisa Mihajlovic insists
his side can do well against Valencia in a friendly match, despite missing
Stevan Jovetic and Adem Ljajic. |
|

The former Catania boss is thinking of possibly
playing new signing Gaetano D'Agostino in a
playmaker-type role in order to cover for the
duo.
But the boss also expects a tough match, and
hopes his side can dominate whilst on the ball
and attack the goals.
"Against Valencia, I am expecting 80 minutes of
high quality, with an improvement in ball
possession and to play well whilst attacking,"
the Serbian told Calcioblog.it. "I want my
defence to be fully concentrating and that the
entire team work well as a unit.
"I am certain that we will not lose, and I think
we will be able to answer any questions posed to
us on the field.
"I hope to have all my players at my disposal
soon, and work together as a team. At the
moment, someone has always been missing for one
reason or another.
"But from the start of the season, I want my
side to be able to play alongside the best our
league has to offer."
As for D'Agostino? "I will try him that
trequartista role, and am working with him. He
already has the experience and understands what
is asked of him," concluded the coach.
The two teams will meet on Wednesday evening in
Spain.

As Sinisa Mihajlovic continues to put the Viola
through their paces ahead of the coming season, the
new Fiorentina coach underlined his desire to push
ahead with plans despite the threat of a drop in
season tickets this term.
“I don’t know what will happen this season with
regards to season tickets,” he declared to
Violanewschannel.
“We will continue as planned regardless of any such
dip in numbers.
“What is important is that we do well. I don’t want
to make any proclamations but I am happy with the
squad at my disposal.
“At the same time if some further reinforcements
should arrive I would be more than happy, but I have
not asked for anything from the club.
“I am happy with how things are working here at
Fiorentina and I intend to enjoy myself,” he
concluded.
